Morning Run

It is amazing how exercise can clear your mind.  This morning I woke up and went for a short run.  It was hard to get up this morning, because I was so tired.  And, I really wasn’t motivated to do any form of exercise.  However, my friend, Nicole, wanted to go on a coffee run and asked me to text her when I got up.  We run to a local coffee house, order our beverages, and walk back home.  Because she was waiting for me to text her, I got myself up.  I highly recommend an exercise buddy who can motivate you to get moving.

I texted Nicole, but I got no response.  I thought she had left without me.  So, I went ahead and did the coffee run by myself.  I was glad I did.  I have been stressed out lately with my classes, work, and the holidays coming up.  It felt good going for a run.  It was a perfect morning.  68 degrees and sunny.  I just ordered my coffee when Nicole texted me.  She had just seen my text and wondered if I still wanted to go for that run.  I told her I was already finished and was headed home.  She was sorry she missed me, but she made herself a cup of tea and walked to meet me.  We walked the rest of the way home together.

Now I need to get some laundry done, go to the grocery store, and finish my homework.  I also need to make my Christmas cookies and get my Christmas cards ready for mailing.  It’s a lot to do, but I am not stressed about it.  Thanks to my run and my coffee.
